Celebrating Eid Safely

Eid Mubarak

Please follow the following guidelines when celebrating Eid:

  • Mosques and or places where congregational prayers take place have risk assessments to ensure that worship can be undertaken safely and in a socially distanced way.
  • Mosques and or places where congregational prayers take place will limit the number attending to the number identified in the risk assessment that can be safely accommodate
  • Do not hold or attend gatherings where more than 30 people will attend. Government guidance states that outdoor gatherings, funerals and weddings should be limited to a maximum of 30 people.
  • Limit contact with people who live in other households.  We know that this is a time when families come together, but we know that Covid-19 is present in our community and the best way to protect our loved ones is to restrict number of households we spend time with
  • Advise the community to avoid close contact with people outside the household, such as handshakes and hugs
  • Remind people in the community to wash their hands regularly and use face coverings when indoors with people they do not live with
  • Remind people that if they have symptoms, they should stay at home for 7 days and book a test. This will prevent them infecting anyone else. There is a new test centre in the overflow carpark at Asda, you can attend with or without an appointment, during the day.
  • Encourage people contacted by the NHS test and trace service, to follow their advice and stay at home for 14 days
