What a remarkable year 2024 was for Halifax Opportunities Trust. We launched Calderdale Cancer Aware in partnership with Macmillan, and we were proud to serve as a community anchor organisation for UKSPF, helping to bring innovative projects to life like the Boothtown Fun Fest and the Park & Warley Art Trail.
Our business centres, Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre and Hanson Lane Enterprise Centre, were bustling hubs of activity, hosting everything from fashion shows to classes and events.
They have also provided space for some incredible businesses, which includes start-ups thanks to our start-up grant. EWIC saw its meeting rooms in demand and home workers benefiting from our co-working space. Meanwhile, Hanson Lane continued to support businesses looking for industrial units of various sizes as well as office space.
Our Central Staying Well project made huge strides in 2024, advancing the physical and emotional wellbeing of our service users. Through personalised 1-1 support, engaging group sessions, and extensive outreach, we’ve created a nurturing environment tailored to the unique needs of individuals.
2024 also marked the first anniversary of the Apna Staying Well Hub, which has rapidly become a cornerstone of community connection. The Hub has formed vital partnerships with local organisations, amplifying our collective impact in promoting wellbeing and fostering a sense of belonging. These collaborations have been essential in improving the quality of life for our service users and building stronger, healthier communities.
All of that is just a fraction of our year. It was a year of growth, partnership, and impact and we’re excited for what’s to come as we continue to support and uplift our community in 2025 and beyond.
