Earlier this month our Employment team were invited to attend a Hopeful Families celebration at John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield. Co-ordinated by Pluss and hosted by the Hopeful Families programme team, the event welcomed a number of partner organisations and charities, as well as the Mayor of Kirklees.
The event took place to recognise the great work and impact of all partners, as well as the individuals who we have worked through the programme, over the past three years. In March 2023 this programme will come to an end; the event provided a perfect opportunity to reflect, recognise and celebrate the progress everyone has made to support participants in overcoming the challenges they face.
Part of the celebration was an award giving for all involved in the programme, either in its delivery or as a participant. We’re pleased to see that some of the HOT team and participants were presented with ‘Participant Awards’ at the event.
We were delighted to be a part of the celebration and join many other teams to learn about their work and the success stories they shared. The programme has been instrumental at HOT, where we have helped people with everyday life, building confidence, skills, health and well-being, as well as unlocking opportunities for employment.
As part of their vision to give everyone the chance to succeed in life, develop skills and build a career, Hopeful Families is a flexible community programme designed to help participants overcome whatever challenges they face.
Run by Pluss and community partners across West Yorkshire, such as HOT, the programme helps families manage the tough times and build a brighter future. It is jointly funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and the European Social Fund.
