Halifax Opportunities Trust is a local charity that helps to create vibrant, multicultural and self-sustaining communities. We’ve been around for over 20 years and we are one of the largest, most dynamic charities in Calderdale. Our roots are in Park ward, to the west of Halifax town centre and we provide services across Calderdale and Kirklees.
We run lots of different activities, including employment support, adult learning, ESOL, children’s centres and nurseries and community projects.
Whether you’re an experienced trustee or wanting to take your first step at board level, we want to hear from you. We are particularly looking for people with one or more of the following skills and experience:
- Living or working in Park or Warley wards
- Supporting families and children
- Running a social enterprise and/or dealing with social finance
We want to increase the diversity of our board to reflect our community and particularly welcome ethnic minority, women and disabled applicants.
