A new project for

a healthier

Parkward

We are the Calderdale Cancer Aware team, a collaboration between the trusted local charity Halifax Opportunities Trust and Macmillan.

Our mission is to normalise conversations about cancer within the diverse communities of Parkward, empowering residents to prevent cancer and advocate for their health.

Parkward is our home and we want to empower the community to help to prevent cancer from developing.

Why it matters

Today, you are 50% more likely to survive cancer than a decade ago, with some cancers having a 99% survival rate if detected early. By discussing cancer openly, recognising signs and symptoms, and confidently advocating for our health, we, the residents of Parkward, can beat cancer together.

Our Goals:

Join us

Are you ready to uplift Parkward? Become a cancer champion for our community. Together, we can talk openly about our health, get cancer diagnosed early for effective treatment, or prevent it from developing altogether.
