We work with a number of large, local organisations to support apprenticeships

HOT Apprenticeships can support you with the transfer of levy funds or to sponsor an apprenticeship through a levy transfer. We often collaborate with organisations that are able to transfer their unspent levy funds, so the apprenticeships we deliver are completely funded.

Does your

company

pay the levy?

The government asks large businesses to pay an Apprenticeship Levy. The purpose of the levy is to encourage large businesses to employ and train staff using apprenticeships. The levy also generates funds to subsidise the cost of apprenticeship training for
smaller businesses

Levy-paying organisations are able to transfer 25% of their unspent levy funds to other, smaller paying businesses. This can be to any business (levy or non-levy) or a government approved Apprenticeship Training Agency. Most organisations that transfer funds do so to help their supply chain or SMEs access training they couldn’t otherwise afford.
Essentially, a transfer means you don’t have to contribute to the cost of apprenticeship training. It also gives you the choice of all the providers listed on the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers.

If you’d like to collaborate with HOT through a levy transfer, please get in touch.

How do I know if I need to pay the Levy?

More information about whether you are a levy paying organisation and what this means.

If you are not required to pay the apprenticeship levy, you can still hire apprentices and run an apprenticeship program. Further information for you, as a non-levy paying company:

All employers will use the online apprenticeship service to manage and pay for apprenticeship training. You will be invoiced for your 5% contribution by your training provider.

If you’d like further information about local levy-transfer opportunities, please get in touch.

Collaboration opportunties with Covea Insurance

The HOT Apprenticeships team is pleased to welcome pladis Global, owners of the fantastic McVitie’s Cake portfolio, made at their factory in Halifax as a collaborator in its levy transfer programme. Working with the organisation, HOT has been able to support eight learners with Early Years Practitioner Level 2 and Early Years Educator Level 3 qualifications, meaning that small local organisations in the early years sector can take on apprentices and support their workforce with skills that benefit all involved.
